Our PRTF is an intensive moderate to long term residential care which provides active treatment in a safe, structured, therapeutic environment for adolescents with severe emotional disturbances, substance abuse, or mental illness. These services are provided with safety, monitoring, and treatment as priority focuses to help youth develop skills to succeed in less-restrictive, permanent settings. Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) used include Seeking Safety, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), “Seven Challenges” and principles of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Best Practices include the use of the Good Lives Model and Pycho-Education material of “Why Try”.
Strategic Behavioral Center’s Psychiatric Residential Treatment Program offers long-term treatment for adolescents (ages 12-17)with ongoing behavioral, emotional, or psychiatric challenges. Treatment is individualized for each resident, and we encourage parents/guardians to participate actively in their adolescent’s treatment. Adolescents work with a personalized team of therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and residential support staff to ensure safety and promote the practice of behavioral management skills. This program provides treatment in a safe, structured, secure therapeutic setting, and is ideal for adolescents who are experiencing serious mental health or behavioral problems that impair their ability to participate in their schools, their communities, and in their home environments.
